Trying to make things happen makes me realize the real differences in the efforts that people make, and why some people live the way they do. In the effort to get my Visa materials to Korea, I FedEx-ed all the necessities from the Kinko's down the street. First encounter, the guy behind the counter tells me, "oh, there's an addtional code that needs to be in the address, blah-blah-blah," which is crap, according to everyone else I talk to, okay, cut to the second attempt, "oh, if it's all filled out, just drop it in the bin, and they'll pick it up." Which they did, but which left me with no tracking number. First attempt using FedUp's GO&#&(()^$@ED WORTHLESS voice response automation, shot me up another f-in blind alley. I finally get a PERSON on the line, and the matter is cleared up almost instantaneously, but FedEx will unquestionably NOT be my first choice if I am ever again required to ship internationally. All this after yesterday getting the second of my Japanese Encephalitis shots prior to leaving, getting out of the office, only to find I needed a bathroom, and all the ones in the building (this being a medical building in Detroit, after all, they don't call it Murder City for nothin,) are LOCKED!!!!! I'd still like to know what kinda freakin stupid, messed-up world we live in where bathrooms have to be locked! Yeah, I know, I rant, but, hell, are we all that out of it, outside of our own little personal quests?! Has it come to that, or have I simply been in Detroit too damned long?! I don't know either, but as a society, well, you know on an individual level if your goals are merely to serve yourself sexually, and fatten your wallet, negelecting God and all the rest of us in the process, and to which I can only stand on my soapbox, and say WAKE UP!!!!! And for cryin out loud, DON'T spread this contagion (if you don't know the word, look it up,) to your kids by allowing "Happy Bunny" into your reality. More on that later.
