Nothing of note, except for weather even the locals are hard-pressed to explain; the last couple nights have been rain-drenched and positively pyrotechnic, but not seeming to affect my sleep nearly as much as my sinuses, which I can't seem to come to grips with. Then, the last couple mornings, it's been a howling, probably 70+ mph wind. If the wind gets any stronger, the fishermen won't even HAVE to go out to sea, they can just string their nets up along the shore like tennis nets and let the wind do the work, sucking the fish and octopus clean outta the sea, depositing them in the waiting nets like some freakish barrage. Can'tcha just see it? I didn't think so, but then again nobody said my mind worked like the average person's either. Thank God, some would say. Past that, I seem to find myself having an odd longing for some Frank Sinatra music, I have no idea what that's about. Latest word about my dad's cardiovascular health, which has long been an issue, says that he has options to help with his blocked arteries, but no one seems to still know how effective any of these options would really be. I'm resolved to the fact that he may indeed not have a lot of time left, and I could wish to be able to do more for him, but what means most of all, I suppose, is the fact that I love him, and he knows I do. And he's said the word to my face I always wanted to hear him say; "I'm proud of you, son." Specific references as to what would elicit the words are immaterial, the fact is, I think every son at some point wants to hear his dad say them. So, thanks dad, for just being proud of me, whatever it was I did to make you proud. And everyone seems to be proud of me for just having the guts (I mark it as stupidity some days, but that's just me,) to go out on a limb and do this, make this trip, make this change, and be better, and more whole. Also came across another of those great Korean linguistic oddities, a candy bar someone obviously thought was crunchy and chunky, and and came up with the name, you guessed it, Crunky. More on that later.
