Into course #3, assuming I didn't blow anything badly enough to get tossed out, which is doubtful, at this point, but never put anything past anyone. And, of course, I'm finding it more and more necessary to modulate my life; I can only handle so many things at once. Which isn't really a problem, of course, it probably saves me a LOT of aggravation. Aggravation being the absolute LAST thing I could possibly require right now. Dad's cognitive and balance skills are worse than ever, and he is requiring more and more care. He's fallen frequently lately, and I spent the other night sleeping in the ER while he was getting a CT scan to check for concussions, (yeah, he's fallen THAT much,) hoisting him around while he attempts to rebel, and changing his Depends, when necessary. Tell me that's the way anybody'd want to deal with their father; that's what I thought, too. The truly bizarre bit was finding his birth certificate; his mother and father were both Austrian. Apparently, it was my Aunt Frances more than anyone with the Croatian connection. Wow. I'll claim it, I guess, stuffed cabbage and all. Everything still fits, in the way that it ever does in the life of a Klobucar. Politics has probably governed much over the years, at this point, it seems like a quaint little footnote in our family history. Which means, likely as not, there's some huge point I haven't been privy to, or have just ignored for whatever reason. Inevitably, though....you are who you are.
