ARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!! I can see where biting the head off a bat, in the manner Ozzy Ozbourne did all those years ago, was probably a stress response, rabies be damned. And people wonder why I would do something so seemingly retrograde as collect die-cast cars; I probably have more now than I had when I was growing up, although really, they're much, much cooler for the most part. I remember my Matchbox Ford Group 6, and my 60's Mercury station wagon with the little dogs in the back. I still have the MG Maestro, with the head and tail lights that light up with two AAA batteries. Dunno why I'm on the retro-feelgood kick, even if it's not, always, but on offer.....more of my childhood.
In other matters, I realize that I still have a lot to learn about being a teacher, although apparently, good as I have known myself to be, I still really haven't done that badly. The task for the week seems to be trying to get my head around Vygotsky vs. Piaget; that sh*t'll make your head spin. I do like Vygotsky's ideas, I also like Bandura's theories, Piaget seems a little "hippie" in his approach to me. "Hey, man, free love! free learning! free Abbe Hoffman! YEAH!"
As you might have guessed, today is like, "free association day" here on my planet. Enjoy the ride. I know I sure do sometimes. Sometimes it is just necessary to "get your ya-yas out," to borrow from the Rolling Stones. But move forward then, secure in the knowledge that you will indeed find your place in the world, if you haven't already. Peace, man.
