With regard to the above, and the way I choose to remember things generally, there's plenty more I could probably include. But the best among all, as you might have guessed, involved my red bike, my childhood dog, (Taffy was a good girl.....a whole lot smarter than several that followed.) The yellow 'Vette I drove once, and the house.....ah, that house. Family always mattered, family always will--especially dad, especially now.

That said, I responded to a lot of things, in a lot of ways, with underlying anger and frustration, especially when it comes to my dad. He hasn't been immune to this, as much as I love him. And, okay, it might seem like the chicken's way of going about it, but I bought a nice blank card and apologized to him for the ways in which I had acted towards him that might have been untoward. I asked for his forgiveness. Under the circumstances, I'm still not sure what his response was, but I felt better doing it before being called upon to be one of his pallbearers. Undoubtedly, there will be others who I don't feel warrant such consideration, on either my part or theirs. Quite frankly, if you can't figure out what your wrongs are, or how to go about correcting them, don't bother me, I've got way too much going on to try and explain my feelings to people who aren't going to listen.
I've talked a lot before, too, about things that I won't do, and places I won't go, particularly on weekends when I have my daughters. Frankly, high on the list of "not gonna happen" events is any one that takes place in Detroit; there's very FEW things I would ever even consider going into Detroit for, mostly because I'm still harumphing over a totally BOGUS speeding ticket I got from a DPD officer. I'm driving in the middle lane, in a car with 195,000 miles on the clock, and a damn fuel leak, to boot, (I fixed it soon after,) an SUV blows by me in the fast lane, practically producing a sonic boom as it does so, and who gets the ticket? ME! We won't even get into to the issue of Detroit residents who get their car stolen repeatedly--am I missing something attractive in the way all this happens?! Understand the nature of the example I'm required to set, in the wake of an ex-wife who's now sporting a nose ring and tattoo; speaking of what was I missing......
I'm gettin' conservative in my old age, and quick. I've been through way too much sh*t now, as a result of that which I've done, and that which I haven't done. I consider my options carefully, remember that.
