The above comprises images I think everyone should have at least a little appreciation for; they're a few panels from the murals in the Detroit Institute of Arts, done by Diego Rivera. They are artisitic masterworks of the first order, at least in my opinion. And not merely because they depict the (admittedly bygone) might of industrial-era Detroit, but because they reflect the blood, and sweat and grit that make any great thing truly great. The muscle involved in the creation of something meaningful, both the art, and the machines it depicts. I admit I'm a little sad that Detroit is not what it once was, indeed an updated version of these panels would probably show mostly Asian workers, in a factory in Lexington, Kentucky or Canton, Mississippi, of all places. But forget the greatness lost, and remember what it truly takes to be great.

And the above? that pretty much constitutes me being just randomly artsy, and try to sort of express all that which is cool, or important, or...well, at least whatever I could find a picture of. I'll probably change it up somehow, and it's certainly not complete. All in fun.
