I've been told I've been being a little lax about keeping this blog up, and, yeah, I am, in terms of what this place is really like, once I'm back, all the really huge mysteries will be revealed, a lot probably won't be huge mysteries to those who've been paying attention. Overall, well, suffice to say, this place, this way of doing things isn't for the faint of heart or those on a large number of medications of any kind. Dare I say that between simple Korean pride, and the rate at which alcohol is consumed in these parts, knowing, nay, ADMITTING you have a common cold is grounds for suicide. Well, maybe it's not to that extent, but it ain't far away, that much I can say. Believe what you will of the Koreans, I'm here to tell you, the two things that come to mind; pride goeth before the fall, and a good, Hamlet-ian "Seems? There is no seems, it IS!" and make what you will of that. What I've been telling people lately is that in the world scheme, South Korea in particular is this great, big, 17-year-old on the world stage. Every SEEMS to be there, and functioning the way its supposed to, but that doesn't mean they have the faintest idea what to do with it all. More later, troops!
