I'm getting to the point where it's hard to remember at times where I might have made a note about something. With the onset of fall, and the Korean's normal, nearly vampirish aversion to the sun, the level of good taste generally, particularly as regards wardrobe, seems to have spiked a bit. The ugly displays of English, festooned liberally all over the summer wear, have given way to outfits for both sexes that somewhat resemble good taste. Still not perfect, but it does put a point on what should have been obvious with Korean's regard for Summer in general, which is to say it's mostly to be endured, and not really enjoyed. Given that a lot of June and July mean rain coming down in buckets, yeah, okay, I can see where it might stem from. I could blather on as I have in the past about population density, and the resulting shortage of individuality as one of many outcomes, but given that we know, too that Koreans have a hard time knowing what to do with free time, well, I suppose we have to see any effort on that front as positive. As a final note, though....service is the lady behind the counter when I score my normal chocolate-covered creme horn fix at the Paris Baguette, putting my goods in a bag, but NOT tying the top, like the other girl behind the counter does. Yeah, she knows.
