I hope this is the video I figured it was, with regard to the Titanic, and the Naval Architect talking about what really might have happened. See for yourself. And, yes, I believe Memorial Day IS truly important to honor the U.S. Servicemen and women who give and gave their lives for our freedom; but don't neglect the innocents, many of whom die simply because our thinking, in some cases, is not nearly as sound as we believe it to be. And as much as I loathe outright stupidity, and the results of it, I'm not so cold as to necessarily believe everyone who ever died this way got what was coming to them.
Darwin Award winners are another category entirely, those who die because they simply ARE that stupid, namely in MY memory, the guy who strapped a JATO, or Jet Aircraft Take-Off engine to the roof of, what could only be discerned from the fragmentary remains of the VIN plate, his 1974 Chevrolet, and hit the switch. Investigation determined he was probably doing close to 500 m.p.h. when the car hit a mountain and essentially disintegrated. Guess those Chevy brakes weren't really designed for only-slightly-sub-sonic velocities, were they?!
That being said, still, think more about life.
