In the immortal words of Ian Hunter, "I've wanted to do this for years..." well, okay maybe not years, but quite some time now, anyway. I've paid all manner of homage to Carroll Shelby; he's a hero of mine, what can I say? Any man who wants to see to it that needy kids get heart transplants if necessary is okay in my book. The above is Carroll Shelby's own personal "Super Snake," with a twin-supercharged 427, cranking out in excess of 600 horsepower, and probably the only Cobra ever made with an automatic transmission. It's one-of-a-kind now, although originally a duplicate was built for Bill Cosby, and is known to have been destroyed. Mr. Shelby's Super Snake sold at Barrett-Jackson in 2007 for five million dollars. A drop on a hot stone, as the Germans might say. But........just......wow.
