In the past I've noted a few of the BMW "art cars, which are as much the height of genuine art as the men who created them, including Alexander Calder (1975), Frank Stella (1976), Andy Warhol (1979), Roy Lichtenstein (1977), David Hockney (1995) Robert Rauschenberg (1986) Ernst Fuchs (1982) and other neo-classics. Sandro Chia's from 1992 is really starting to grow on me. And as awesome as all those are, despite the fact that she was working on a "street" BMW, African artist Esther Mahlangu's creation from 1991 is awesome. (The one at the very top.) The two pink racing Porsches pictured are the famous Porsche 917-20 "Pink Pigs;" Winners dressed up like they're off to the butcher shop.
