Going green. If Plymouth, Michigan, the height of "if anyone asks, you're a Republican," is getting on the earth-friendly bandwagon by holding a festival celebrating green solutions, the rest of the world is not far behind. And, is if to answer some unspoken need, I guess, more pictures. Me and Sydne were the ones who actually went through Toyota's "Highway to the Future" travelling interactive exhibit, which extols the virtues of Hybrid technology and other forms of green living. Not the best pictures, I admit, mostly because you're in a driving simulator and focusing on their little demonstration dialogue. I admit I'm not pretty, but hey, maybe you'll dig the hat. My now-teenage daughter (Syd's older sister Shelby,) doesn't, but what of that?! I also picked up a few neat little trinkets, including "Bosch Clean Diesel Power" window stickers, (the idea here being that, no, my car isn't actually a diesel, but a) I have clients at Bosch, and b) the car is reaching the age where any amount of sympathy you can evoke from other drivers that justifies driving slowly is a good thing.) and my prizes from the Toyota exhibit, a self-energizing flashlight and a packet of Basil seeds. (I don't pretend to get the connection of the Basil seeds, but hey, they were still free.) And Syd's first drive.....sniff....gosh, I'm so proud..... I also found out that the Bosch '54 Corvette with the diesel drivetrain will be making the rounds of some of the summer classic-car gatherings, including the Mecca of the classic-car universe, the Woodward Dream Cruise. Another reason to look forward to August.
