Nothing particularly new to report, but while looking at the news sites, and reading about a "plutoid," (apparently a "not-quite-a-planet" celestial object,) I came across these FANTASTIC photos, courtesy of the NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory folks. God still puts on the best show sometimes, and apparently being a scientist doesn't necessarily preclude you from a having an eye for beauty.
