More auction news, this time ringing with Americana. RM Auctions recently sold the "Sonny and Cher" 1966 Mustangs created by Hollywood customizing diety George Barris, for $198,000, although they had said beforehand that the proceeds would go to charity. I just hope it wasn't the Sonny Bono Memorial Tree Avoidance Fund they were contributing to. Freakish as they may look by today's standards, they were pretty hot stuff for 1966. Funny, though, I can't see Cher in anything pink today. Then again, I'm showing my age just by posting this, so what do I know?
