Just a short note, although others now have probably heard all this; Hertz Rent-A-Car is bringing back one of it's "better ideas," shall we say, (if you don't understand that, you're just not old enough,) in the form of the Shelby GT-H, a rental version of the new Shelby GT-500, available at a Hertz location near you. In case you've never heard this tale, the idea debuted back in 1966, not long after the debut of the original Shelby Mustang. You could walk into selected Hertz locations, and if you wanted a stick-shift model, you had to prove to the counter person you could actually drive a stick, but you could indeed rent a Shelby Mustang. There are tales aplenty of the original GT-350Hs being driven to a racetrack and run to victory, then returned to the rental counter the following Monday. Hertz maintenance people from the era probably still tell tales of the ones that came back with second gear gone, and paint that had been traded, but that I don't know. I can't WAIT to see how this goes......
